About Our Founder

Austen Bourassa (he/him/his) is a multi-disciplinary professional. Currently, Austen works in his native state of Rhode Island for a nonprofit healthcare system. He is a nationally certified pharmacy technician with a passion for learning about medication in all forms. His most intense passion regarding medication education includes cannabis and other traditional/natural medicines. This is reflected in the creation of The Inspired Jewel's line of Wellness rollers.

As a young adult, he began his journey into healthcare through the disciplines of human services and mental/behavioral health. With over 20 years in this field, he has worked with nearly every specialized patient population, age, affliction, and need as well as in a variety of settings. Between roles in mental/behavioral health and his current role in pharmacy, Austen also assisted with quality assurance in electronic healthcare and patient advocacy. He remains committed to these topics today.

In May 2025, Austen received his Master's degree in Cannabis Science and Therapeutics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. He holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in African-American Studies/Sociology as well as a Bachelor's in Healthcare Administration from Rhode Island College. He also achieved a Master's degree from Johnson and Wales University in Nonprofit Management.
